Discover the Journey of Fikirini Jacobs Kahindi and His Impact
Humble Beginings
Fikirini Jacobs Kahindi was born in Bamba Village, Kilifi County — a region whose challenges and promise shaped his worldview early in life. Growing up in a rural setting instilled in him humility, empathy, and a deep understanding of inequality and opportunity gaps.
He carries Bamba with him in every policy conversation — a constant reminder of who leadership must serve.
The making of a comrade.
At Maasai Mara University, Fikirini’s voice quickly became synonymous with bold student representation. He challenged systems, demanded accountability, and defended student rights. His activism would later continue at Pwani University.
Though expelled twice during his student leadership journey, he remained unbroken. These experiences shaped his political philosophy and strengthened his resilience.
He did not retreat from advocacy — he refined it.

An active member of the Orange Democratic Movement, Fikirini considers himself a dedicated student of the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga. From this mentorship, he embraced ideals of participatory democracy, social justice, and people-centered governance.
Today, as a national executive serving in the administration of H.E. President William Ruto, he embodies a bridge between ideological conviction and institutional responsibility.
His philosophy is simple:
Conviction must evolve into constructive governance.

Public Service
Before his national appointment, Fikirini served as Kilifi County Director of the Delivery Unit, where he strengthened performance monitoring and service delivery mechanisms.
His track record of mobilization, youth advocacy, and execution earned him national recognition and eventual appointment as Principal Secretary for Youth Affairs & Creative Economy.
In this role, he continues to combine activism’s courage with governance discipline.
Under the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports, the State Department is mandated to drive youth empowerment and creative industry development across Kenya.
The Department focuses on building sustainable structures that enable young people to transition from potential to productivity.
